Community Health Centers Positively Impact the Economy

Beyond the outstanding health services provided to patients by community health centers, it is important to consider the impact health centers have on their communities. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers, Rhode Island community health centers employ more than 700 Rhode Islanders. The economic impact of the RI community health centers to local communities is estimated to be over $65 million and wasted expenditures on avoidable emergency room visits is over $60 million.
