REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
RIHCA is excited to share a new Request for Proposals (RFP) opportunity aimed at engaging healthcare facilities to enhance cancer screening access for uninsured and underinsured patients of the RI Community Health Centers (CHCs) and free clinics. Proposals are due by 500pm EST 1/24/2025.
- Diagnostic Colorectal Cancer Screenings
- Facilities will provide diagnostic colonoscopies and polyp removal for CHC and free clinic patients. - Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings
-Facilities will facilitate screening events for uninsured patients, with funding available to support staffing, educational materials, and services addressing access barriers such as transportation and daycare.
Goal:
This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers and improve access to essential cancer screenings for uninsured and underinsured patients. Importantly, patients will not receive a bill for these services:
- Diagnostic colonoscopies and polyp removal will be fully covered by the funding.
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings will be referred to the RIDOH Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program (BCCSP) for reimbursement.
